The Trier 2025 EYP session took place from the 28th of February till the 3rd of March. As the delegation representing Switzerland, the three of us were warmly welcomed to the oldest city in Germany on behalf of the EYP community.

EYP is an opportunity to further your political knowledge and gain new perspectives of issues that deeply concern our generation. It’s not about being an academic weapon and acing every argument, it’s about being able to share your ideas with fellow delegates, debate resolutions and make new friends. At this session, we were able to not only get informed about but also brainstorm possible solutions on matters such as promoting civic engagement to the young generation, protecting biodiversity in coastal regions from climate change, respecting and promoting lost cultures especially through recognizing minority languages, and how to prevent democratic backsliding in the EU.

EYP gives us a source of confidence to share our opinions and learn how to present and defend them. EYP gives us new friendships and long-lasting memories. EYP gives us a chance to realize and appreciate that being European means you are part of a vibrant community with different cultures, languages, history, etc.
